With nearly twenty years of musical collaboration together, husband and wife duo Daniel and Jenna Watters embrace a sound they call “Americana Soul.” Seamlessly blending Soul, Rock and Jazz, they have been described as “Fleetwood Mac with a horn section” after developing their unique but accessible sound across seven different albums together under various monikers and releasing their debut record as their current band, The Watters, in 2016. Now an acclaimed mainstay of the Austin music scene, they have garnered a devoted fan base through their stirring vocals and road-weathered musicianship and have opened for artists like Michael McDonald, The Revivalists, Allen Stone, and Devon Gilfillian.

“Imagine a country music universe built around the moody experience of Dwight Yoakam’s song 1000 Miles From Nowhere, or the dour music of 90’s Chris Issak. Then infuse it with just enough 80’s-inspired New Wave goth to make it even more unique and nostalgic." (Saving Country Music) Aaron McDonnell has toured nationally playing noted events such as Honky Tonkin’ in Queens, Jackalope Jamboree in Oregon, The Grand Ole Echo in Los Angeles, and Honky Tonk Tuesday in Nashville. He has also toured Ireland and the UK, and is a mainstay at Austin's iconic White Horse Honky Tonk. He has released a series of acclaimed albums and is currently signed to Feels So Good Records. He was also named as one of the "4 Must See Honky Tonk Bands in Austin" by Austin Monthly magazine in 2025.

“In the crowded Texas country field, McDonnell stands out as one of the most natural talents to rise out of Austin in years.”

Hot Pickin 57s play the music America built, bluegrass, classic country, and Americana, drawn from the deep well of Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Bob Wills, Doc Watson, and Hank Williams, performed with the energy and precision of musicians who have spent their careers immersed in it.

Hot Pickin 57s are proud members of the 2026–2028 Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Texas Touring Roster, the TCA's juried list of artists selected by a statewide panel.

With deep roots in the Austin scene, the band reunited in 2016 after musical educations at Berklee, South Plains College, and Texas State. Members have played in bands like the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, Whit Smith's Hot Jazz Caravan, and Rosie and the Ramblers, and performed alongside Sierra Hull, Beppe Gambetta, Alan Munde, Mark Cosgrove (David Bromberg), Billy Bright (Wood & Wire), and Kym Warner (Robert Earl Keen, Greencard

Hot Pickin 57s

I’ve worked with dozens of bands over the years, and no other group nails it like the Hot Pickin 57s. Before the show they are a breeze to schedule. Day of- they’re timely and hassle free. And during the performance they’ll crush it with fun originals, spot-on classics, incredible talent, an energized presence, and some jokes in-between songs to let you catch your breath. I literally couldn’t recommend them more.

Joshua Macias - Booking Agnet

The guys wer great! They were focused on all the right things during pre- planning, on time and then gave a great performance. They were a pleasure to work with!

Paul Chung - Boggs Chung

Great music, easy to work with. We hired them for a corporate cocktail party and they killed it. I will definitely hire them again.

Ben Greenzweig - Momentum

Hot Pickin played our annual fundraiser. They were amazing, made the night. I could NOT recommend this band enough. Played for 250 people, and everyone loved the music.

Whitney Scones - Landa Gardens

I worked with Hot Pickin 57s as a wedding planner and found them to be really lovely to work with. They were responsive, arrived early, flexible when the schedule changed a bit during the wedding, and their music set the perfect tone for the outdoor dinner reception we were hosting.

Callie Langford - Wedding Planner

We hired the Hot Pickin 57s for a 1,000 person church event! We could not have been more pleased with our decision. Max and the team were easy to communicate with. And not to mention, their music is fantastic! If you are considering hiring them, I cannot recommend them enough!

Jordan Greer - Church

The Hot Pickin 57s played for a family gathering at our home, following a memorial service for my cousin. The set up outside in the sunshine on the patio, and played their hearts out. Their music helped us move from sadness to joy, and before we knew it there was dancing! Singing! So much laughter! The guys are accomplished musicians and have kind and gracious hearts. They played "May the Circle Be Unbroken" twice, and "I'll Fly Away," along with "Rocky Top" and other great tunes. We savored the music, remembered those in our family who played guitar and accordion and drums. The band offered us the exquisite gift of lively, accomplished fine music, offered with so much heart and kindness. We hope to have them again for a birthday celebration!

Mary Earle - Private Party

We hired Hot Pickin 57s for our wedding. We spent a few weekends listening to a lot of bands in the area and we decided to go with Hot Pickin. They were fun, upbeat and we knew our guests would really like them. They were also very organized and had their repertoire laid out so they were extremely easy to deal with. My wife had a special song she wanted to be played for the bridal procession, and they learned to play it just for our wedding. That ended up being a really nice touch, and we are thankful that they were willing to do that for us. We also had an outdoor wedding so logistically it wasn't the easiest for them to set up and play, but they were very accommodating and it worked out perfectly. When we hired them we knew they would knock it out of the park and that is exactly what they did. Our guests thought they were awesome and are still raving about them.

Channie Dennis - Wedding

We are a R&B/Soul band with some funk and jazz elements. We also mix in covers. Our music is primarily original but because of the style it's great for dancing and a wide range of audiences. We have played for a number of weddings, private parties and corporate events. These have included events for The Capital factory, CLEAResult and Architects in Austin. We are interested in weddings, private parties, corporate events and festivals. Some recent accomplishments include being an official 2022, 2025 and 2026 SXSW Showcasing Artist and were named by Austin Fit Magazine as the "Best Live Band " in the 2022 and 2023 Best of Austin List. In 2022 we played the inaugural Q BBQ Fest Dallas at AT&T Stadium, The Taylor TX MainStreet Car Show, Fall 2022 Pecan Street Festival and the Music on Main St in Taylor, TX , 2023 and 2024 Red Poppy Festival and 2025 River Revival Fest Our latest EP "Charge It to The Band Fund" has been received with critical acclaim. We would love to play your event.

We had a Trio from Pendulum Hearts for our company holiday party and it was ah-mazing! Chase & his crew are.such.talented.musicians! We had them play for a few hours, so Chase also provided artistic direction and suggestions: like instrumentals for the first set while we were eating dinner, then add in vocals later in the evening. And their customer service was just as incredible as the music -- well communicated, clear about expectations, easy to work with, timely with everything. I would book again and again and again without hesitation!

Allison St. John - Abilitie

I booked Pendulum Hearts for an opening event for our new corporate office in Downtown Austin. We had limited space and sound limitations and Chase and the band were excellent. They were accommodating of the space and sound limitations, showed up early, played a great mix of songs and different types of music, and were very friendly and outgoing with everyone. I highly recommend booking them for your next event!

Amanda Miller - Redgate

Throughout the evening, every single guest came up to us asking how we found him, where to find his personal albums, and even had around 5 guests tell us he should be on “The Voice”. Josh’s amazing voice carried through the night and executed the multiple songs we asked him to learn perfectly. I can’t even begin to describe just how jaw-dropping he sounds.. seriously... this dude is going to blow up soon with an amazing voice like that.

Towards the end of the night, Josh DJ’ed for us and got the entire crowd going nuts. He picked great songs to get the party turned up a notch!

Josh’s enthusiasm and genuine desire to make our night special was magical. We can’t sing his praises enough!

Jake Balog - Balog Co.

Josh has been playing in our restaurant for years and always provides the BEST entertainment for our guests.
On several occasions, we were heading towards a pretty slow evening with business, and Josh's interaction with the tables kept them in the restaurant/bar area longer. He has such a fun and welcoming personality that it's not uncommon for guests to leave their table to make a song requests, then get up from their dinner table to start dancing along! Being in the hotel business, we see several different business conventions with a wide range of interests and demographic. All I ever have to do is tell Josh what time of group we have in house and he takes it from there! He has a WIDE variety of genres that he can play/sing and can immediately pick up on what the crowd wants to hear. He is by far the friendliest, easiest and most talented artist we have!

Nicole Moreno - Renaissance Hotel

Josh is an incredible vocalist and musician. But he’s not just that. He’s a great entertainer, a really sweet guy, and he knows how to read the room, start the party, and keep it going! He played acoustic music at our wedding and also was the DJ for the reception. We got so many comments from our guests about how much they loved the music. The music really made the whole atmosphere so enjoyable for everyone (all ages)! He’s so personable and easy to work with too. I highly recommend Josh for any event!! Great voice, great talent, great personality, and top of the line professionalism!

Molly Sayers - Lou Boerne

I am a solo act that pays a wide range of upbeat cover songs that keeps the audience engaged and entertained. Juston Hargrove

Justin was an amazing performer. He easily shifted with our needs both before and during the event. We didn't give him a ton of context about what we were looking for, and he still took what he had and fit the bill perfectly. He was amenable to every suggestion we made. He communicated well with us. His music is very very good. We would certainly hire him again.
