In the spring of 2021, Shannon Forrest and Judson McKinney met each other at a recording session at the legendary Blackbird Studio in Nashville through producer/mixer Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, The Killers, Neon Trees). The pair discovered they were both from Upstate South Carolina, McKinney from Clemson and Forrest from Easley, and realized that they were the perfect match to create music. Forrest, a session drummer who has toured with Toto and been involved in the recording of a number of successful albums by Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood and many others. The two began writing and recording at Forrest’s studio which would end up becoming Judson McKinney and the Wanderers. The duo have created a number of epic songs that you can hear but more importantly feel, including “Last Man Standing,” “Liberty Bells,” and the apocalyptic single “So True” - a dark satire on an ubiquitous social media hashtag.
