—- from Zappa to Zevon—Clapton to Hendrix , Christy Fisher was the “seamstress for the band” for many well known musical acts —- and she was often put to work doing background vocals along with hemming the pants . For many years she played in local bands and was hired by recording studios for vocals . Christy soon found interest in audio engineering as well as writing and performing and owns a recording studio in Arizona . Christy plays keyboard, guitar, ukulele, midi, and EWI (electronic wind instrument) , and creates her own backing tracks using unusual looping and audio techniques that make her solo performances sound like a full band - with Christy playing all the parts ! Her recent album, “Mixed Signals” has received the 2022 “Album of the Year” award by the International Singer and Songwriter Association. Christy currently performs over 200 gigs a year .
