Rock and Roll, Americana Country Singer/Songwriter, Storyteller
That high lonesome sound, evoking winds that blow through valleys of fear and over plains of wistful peace. David Newbould's voice embodies that high and lonesome state of being. His songs have been featured in 10 TV shows/films, incl. Criminal Minds, Dawson’s Creek, and Streets of Blood. His releases have received enthusiastic critical acclaim and spots on Euro Americana, FAR, and Roots 66 charts. 12 of his songs have appeared on albums by Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites).
Born in Toronto, he left for the US at the end of his teens. In New York City he developed a loyal fan base, and eventually relocated to Austin, then Nashville. Having spent several years touring, he had by this point demanded attention as a songwriter worthy of notice.
Following "Power Up!" (2022, Blackbird Record Label), he completed his first club headlining tour of Europe. The album received consideration from the GRAMMY committee in 2 categories (Best Alternative Music Album and Best American Roots Song).
