Special Edition is a premier party band staffed by seasoned performers, and authentically and enthusiastically covers a huge array of genres, including Dance/Pop, R&B, Rock, Country, Jazz, Motown, and more, and tailors the playlist to the requests, time-line and theme of each event. They also know how to “read a room,” and can adjust on the fly based on needs of the moment. The Special Edition Band performs weekly for corporate events, galas, concert series and civic events, and private parties of all types. The group is primarily booked in 9 - 11 piece configurations, ft. front vocalists, rhythm section, and a spectacular horn-section, but also handles scaled-down, ”acoustic/unplugged" configurations.

COCKTAILS can be performed by an “Acoustic Duo /Trio” comprised from within the band
MAIN RECEPTION...We can provide an initial set (or two) of “background” suitable music, at a conversational level;
We can provide music cues for awards shows, and then pivot to full-on "after party" dance set(s)!

CORPORATE EVENT PACKAGE #2: COUNTRY “HYBRID” THEME, DONE IN SYNC WITH SMITH BAND
COCKTAILS can be performed by an “Acoustic Duo or Trio” comprised from within the band
MAIN RECEPTION we can provide an initial set of Country etc at a conversational level, then pivot to a full set of energetic Country and Roots Rock at fuller volume, and then merge with The Special Edition Band!

ACOUSTIC TRIO/QUARTET, SPECIAL EDITION "UNPLUGGED"
For these performances we provide an Acoustic Trio, 3 - 5pce of core members of the band, expertly covering a wide range of Easy Listening, Country, Rock & Pop genres, and ft 2 - 3 part harmonies and strong leads. We can watch the room, and pivot musically as needed. We offer unique, musical, intriguing and engaging covers of all that we perform.

I can't recommend this talented band enough. We hired the Special Edition Band for my daughter's wedding and they made our night! John was great to work with, and their professionalism and showmanship was elite. They sounded amazing and kept the dance floor full through the last set, often coming off the stage and interacting with the crowd during songs. Such a fun and talented band of joyful people. What made it better was they were able to coordinate the strings during the ceremony, they performed as a jazz trio during cocktail hour, and then the 10-piece band for the reception - it was great that I didn't have to bring in 2-3 different groups to accommodate each part of the wedding. And the horns playing as my daughter and her new husband were walking out was icing on the cake. Would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. You know the band was great when people are talking about them long after the event is over. Posted on google, 4/28/26
