Jay Erve is not your garden variety Hip hop artist. His introduction to the culture was at 8 years old as a dancer/b boy for his older cousins dance quartet. From there he formed his own b boy crew BBC. As the popularity of rap music grew, so did his desire to emulate the great emcees of that era.
In the early 90's he started performing regionally with the seminal group The Prisona's of Society, a socially conscious duo he co-founded. Their ingenuity and DIY work ethic influenced a whole crop of younger upstarts from SW Michigan. The late 90's saw Jay co-founding an Avengers-like superhero Hip Hop band known as The Urbanights that produced two critically acclaimed projects, as well as touring Japan. Between 2002-2024, Jay has written and produced 1,000 songs, 11 solo albums, performed regularly and has been featured on songs with a wide range artists from Honey-B-Sweet to Clay Mac James.
Also notable is his work with Eternal Might, a superb duo that produced 7 albums culminating
