Dan Shafer

Dan Shafer (Daniel David Shafer) is an American classic rock singer, songwriter, and musician. He’s best known for his powerful vocals and for being the voice behind several iconic national television commercials, including campaigns for Transformers: Generation 2, Matchbox Lightning Key Cars, Alien 3 Space Marines, and BC Powder. He built a long career as a first‑call session vocalist, often hired for his ability to emulate a wide range of artists—from Harry Connick Jr. to Paul McCartney and Robert Plant. His work also includes collaborations with notable musicians such as Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Paul Warren (Rod Stewart, Tina Turner), Troy Luccketta (Tesla), and Carmine Appice. Shafer gained national attention in 2016 when he appeared on NBC’s The Voice (Season 11), joining Team Blake Shelton after a standout blind audition performing Train’s “Marry Me.” His audition and battle-round performances have accumulated millions of views.
