RT Johnson is the pride of Askewville, NC population 182, like many of his contemporaries, he discovered a love for music singing in his small town church. Along with his early gospel roots he came to love country music and rock and roll. A former tobacco farmer like his father and grandfather before him, RT’s music and “aw shucks” personality have an authenticity that only come from real life experiences. His songs tell the story’s of Americana and the country lifestyle, ranging from small town living, family and simple times to party anthems. His songs have won best collaboration at “who’s who awards” in Indiana in 2023 and nominated for 2024 Grand Ole Opry Josie awards ,vocal event of the year. RT is currently signed to CCB Nashville records and his newest record is the award winning American Tough album featuring current members of Alabama, it includes the award winning song “This old guitar” featuring 90’s country music icon Wade Hayes.
