Black and White Drawn Portraits In Two Minutes
I like making people smile rather than cry. I don't do cruel caricatures. Since it is a drawing rather than a photograph, I leave out some wrinkles and add a little more hair. I can draw groups, children and pets. I do black and white caricature in ink in about three minutes. I can do color caricatures. That takes an extra five minutes.
A lot of caricaturists draw people from the side. That way they don’t have to be accurate. Most people don’t know what they look like from the side. I have people look directly at me when I draw them. That way they can hold the drawing up to a mirror and compare the drawing to their face and see how accurate it is.
When you go to museums, you see portraits of royalty or rich people. It is nice to see the faces of ordinary people I draw when they see their drawing. Many people tell me they want to frame the drawings. I think it makes ordinary people feel like royalty.
I charge $100 per hour in person or $50 per hour remotely via Zoom.
