Los Desechos doesn’t just play Cumbias—they raise the dead with "Cumbias Levantamuertos." Their music is for everyone: the tía and tío who know all the dance moves, the neighbor whose speakers blast it across the block, the car cruising down East Austin bumping them, and you—ready to hit the dance floor. They’re not just a band—they’re part of the cultural fabric of the community. Los Desechos has shared the stage with Sonidero Nacional, Sonido Gallo Negro, Sonora Dinamita, Money Chicha, El Combo Oscuro, El Tule, and many more at SXSW, Viva Big Bend, Cumbiadelica Fest, Continental Club, and Houston Cumbia Caravan. The group is the resident house band for monthly Hotel Vegas Cumbia Night and features members of El Combo Oscuro, El Tule, and Continental Drift.
