Wayne Maureau's Vieuxdoo Nouveau

Born and raised in New Orleans, drummer Wayne Maureau is a veteran of the local music scene with over 30 years of experience. He is renowned for his versatility and is called upon to back both local and international artists across all genres. Maureau is best known for his 14-year membership in the Roadmasters with the late Blues, R&B, and Funk legend Walter “Wolfman” Washington. He currently tours and records with Mia Borders, Soul Project, and various jazz, Latin, and funk groups in the Crescent City. As a bandleader, Maureau has released five albums of his original compositions. His current project, “Wayne Maureau's Vieuxdoo Nouveau,” performs his originals, which blend New Orleans-influenced funky grooves with Jazz improvisation.
