My workshops encourage deep attention to the creative process. For all sessions, we begin with education, explore and experiment, and end with reflection. Our workshops are designed for audiences ages 16+. In Short Order Poetry, participants learn how to craft poems on the fly. The lecture teaches the value of personal story and encourages attendees to hone their skills in finding the essence of a story. Participants will experiment with turning that essence into poems. Participants will leave the workshop better listeners and better artists. These skills lend themselves to improved emotional intelligence in the home and workplace. This workshop is perfect for small-midsize offices seeking to improve interpersonal relations among staff!

My workshops encourage deep attention to the creative process. For all sessions, we begin with education, explore and experiment, and end with reflection. In Collaging Manifestations, participants lean into vulnerability and craft visual narratives to compliment poetry. Participants will learn basic tenets of poetic interpretation, select a short poem from an instructor-provided catalog, then craft a visual collage based on the chosen poem. The final collage serves as a totem for participants to carry with them for inspiration and motivation. Participants will leave with their totems and a new lens through which to appreciate creative writing. This workshop is perfect for retreats and events meant to help participants reflect and reset.

In this experience, I trade stories for poems! Guests/participants will give me a prompt (could be one word, could be a short story from their childhood), and I will craft a poem in real time based on the shared prompt. Guests will receive their poems printed on a card, leaving them with an artful memento of your event. Perfect for weddings, conferences, festivals, or corporate team building events.
