Laughing & Development is an improv workshop for teams, led by professional comedians and improvisers. Your group plays a series of fun, low-stakes improv games that get people laughing, talking and working together. No acting experience needed, and nobody has to be funny. The laughter is a byproduct of being in the moment. We run it two ways: Improv for Team Building The easy way to have fun with your team. Silly, energizing, and the kind of team bonding people actually talk about afterward. Great for offsites, kickoffs and team meetings. Improv for Professional Development Same laughs, sharper skills. Every exercise ties back to the workplace: better listening, stronger presence, and the confidence to think fast under pressure. Great for leadership programs, sales teams and L&D days. What to expect - Before the event, your organizer completes a short pre-event survey about the group, the goals and anything to avoid. We pick the facilitator and tailor the session from there. - Sessions run from a 10-minute energizer to a full-hour workshop, in person or on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet. - Everything is workplace-friendly. The games are low-stakes, so the quietest person in the room can join in without feeling put on the spot. - Your group leaves with a few simple tools, like "yes, and" and active listening, that they can use in their next meeting. Why it works A single laughter session measurably lowers cortisol, the main stress hormone (meta-analysis of 8 studies, PLOS One, 2023). Across 49 studies of 8,532 workers, positive workplace humor is tied to better performance, stronger team cohesion and less burnout (Journal of Managerial Psychology, 2012).
