Tate Mayeux

For nearly 17 years, Tate Mayeux has fronted Mayeux & Broussard, a Texas music staple that is still going strong today. Coming up in the Lone Star scene alongside peers like Shane Smith & the Saints and Silverada, Mayeux spent nearly two decades sharing stages with legends ranging from Billy Joe Shaver and Doug Kershaw to Hayes Carll and Chris Stapleton. Because the band members stay active with other artists, Tate found the perfect window to launch his solo venture: All My Groovy Friends—a name born as a tongue-in-cheek response to a lifetime of folks misspelling his last name. Rather than a departure, the project is a collaborative evolution. For the live show, Mayeux has assembled a powerhouse band of long-time friends, featuring highly accomplished songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Jordan Matthew Young (electric guitar/vocals) and Adam Johnson (electric baritone guitar/vocals), alongside Bryan McGrath (drums) and Preston Rhone (Gulf Coast bass). Fueled by his signature lazy Southern drawl and gritty, cosmic-swamp atmosphere, the music pairs perfectly with a view of the American South—serving as "a good way to visit if you don't have money."
